Meet Dr. Wahan

Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Wahan joined the Practice in 2007. His philosophy is to provide outstanding care with a high level of dedication. He is an advocate of teaching and prides himself with keeping up with current literature and technology. He has been an affiliate instructor at the University of Washington since 2009 where he trains dental students and oral surgeons. Dr. Wahan also gives lectures on dental implants and complex bone grafting and maintains a Study Club where he collaborates with his peers in the dental community on complex cases and continuing education.

Dr. Wahan grew up in Seattle and in Newcastle and attended Newport High School. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Zoology at Washington State University he moved to Boston to complete his dental training at Tufts Dental School. Dr. Wahan then moved to Pennsylvania where he completed medical school and his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital, a level I trauma center in Pittsburgh. He also completed two years of general surgery residency.

Dr. Wahan is dual certified in Washington as a DMD and MD. He is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is Board Certified in Dental Anesthesiology by the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology. He has been on the executive committee of the Snohomish County Dental Society since 2009 and served as President from 2013-2014.

Access to healthcare is important and there will always be a need for it. Dr. Wahan donates his time and covers facial trauma and oral surgery call at Providence Regional Medical Center, which is the busiest emergency room in the state.  Outside of oral surgery, Dr. Wahan has a deep passion for those on the autism spectrum and has dedicated many hundreds of hours learning about the care and behavioral management of these unique individuals.  Dr. Wahan’s interests include watching the Seahawks, music, and working out. His professional interests include trauma surgery and complex dental implant surgery such as full mouth reconstruction cases where teeth can be placed permanently in one day.
